Titanic: the Exhibition
The Titanic. Most of the people know its great, beautiful, true and sad story. If you are familiar with it, then it surely impressed you. In 1992, the Titanic was considered to be the most remarkable boat ever built: large, luxurious, resistant and unsinkable. People came aboard convinced that nothing wrong could ever happen to them here. They headed for New York on April 10 and only four days after, on a dark, moonless and freezing night, at around 11: 30 pm, the Titanic ran into a huge iceberg, while the 2,200 passengers were quietly enjoying their dinner. The lifeboats could save only half of them but in reality they saved even less. The Titanic asked for help, but the only boat close enough to help them, the Californian, did not respond. More than half of the passengers were left to sink with the Titanic, 3 hours after the impact, and now have the ocean as their grave.
The same Titanic, or to be honest, parts of it, can now be admired at the Las Vegas Titanic Exhibition, housed in the Tropicana Resort and Casino. If you wish to find out stories about the passengers' lives and see more than 300 artifacts recovered from the bottom of the ocean, then we are waiting for you. When you enter the exhibition you are given the name of a passenger and, at the end, you will find out whether you survived or not. Entering the recreated first-class cabins and the boiler room of the Titanic will lead your way to a great, lost era. The well-known diamond ring, organ whistles, a bollard and a large section of the ship will be there to remind you that what you see isn't a dream, but reality.
You can visit the museum daily, between 10 am and 10 pm, except for Christmas Eve and the New Year's Eve when the doors of the exhibition will close at 6 pm and the Christmas Day when the Las Vegas Titanic Exhibition will not be open.
