Are you an art fan? Whether you are a specialist or a novice in this field, we welcome you to the Las Vegas Art Museum, whenever you wish to admire great works of art. You may have already seen it in the National Registry of Art Museums, but we shall offer you more information about it. Your parents and grandparents might know the museum under the name of Las Vegas Art League, for this was its name until 1974. Ever since 1950, the museum houses fabulous permanent collections and special exhibits. Most of the works exposed are contemporary and the audience of the museum is diverse. People of all ages and social status come here to delight and instruct themselves. The main gallery features a new exhibit every month, collections signed by artists of local, national or international renown. The Las Vegas Art Museum houses extraordinary exhibits such as Fifteen Santa Fe Artists, 100 Years of Influence: The women who shaped Las Vegas and Essential Dimensions: A juried art exhibit of an about women. The museum wishes to initiate both residents and tourists into the secrets of art, and also help them see the close connection between art and everyday life. In order to succeed, the museum offers sponsorship for several educational programs and special exhibits. It also encourages the children's interest in art, by providing, among others, free admission for children under twelve.
The Las Vegas Art Museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday between 10 am and 5 pm. On Sundays, you may visit the museum between 1 pm and 5 pm.
